Former President Donald Trump addressed his supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, on the heels of his campaign victory, lauding tech billionaire Elon Musk as a rising star in American politics.

“We have a new star, a star is born,” Trump declared to a cheering crowd. “Elon, he’s an amazing guy.”

Trump went on to describe Musk as “a character, a special guy, a super genius,” emphasizing the need to protect such talents. “We don’t have many geniuses like him,” he added.

The former president credited Musk with playing a key role in his campaign, particularly in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state. Musk, the world’s wealthiest individual, had contributed over $130 million to Trump’s campaign and other Republican efforts, bolstering the party’s prospects in key races.

Musk also pledged to keep his super PAC, America PAC, active beyond the election, continuing to support conservative candidates and causes.

By early Wednesday, major networks projected Trump’s victory in Pennsylvania, securing the state’s crucial electoral votes and narrowing Vice President Kamala Harris’s path to the presidency. The win has placed Trump on the brink of a historic political comeback, with some calling it one of the greatest in American history.

Senator JD Vance, Trump’s vice-presidential pick, echoed this sentiment, calling the outcome “the greatest political comeback in American history.”

If Trump successfully returns to the White House, he would become only the second president in U.S. history to lose re-election and reclaim the office.

During the rally, Trump also reassured supporters that Republicans would retain control of the House of Representatives, though official projections had yet to confirm the outcome. House Speaker Mike Johnson, who Trump praised as “doing a great job,” appeared on stage, further solidifying Republican confidence.

As Trump nears a potential return to office, he thanked his allies and supporters for helping him achieve what many thought impossible, signaling the start of a new chapter in his political journey.
