The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Working Committee (NWC) has suspended several associates of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for alleged anti-party activities.

APGA National Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, announced the suspension during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, highlighting the party’s commitment to addressing infractions and indiscipline within its ranks.

Njoku stated that the suspensions are linked to the members’ participation in illegal primary elections and congresses in Anambra State, which violate the party’s constitution. Among those suspended are Barr. Sylvester Ezeonwuka, Mr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, and all candidates emerging from these unauthorized processes.

Additionally, the NWC condemned Chief Victor Oye for allegedly disrespecting court judgments while awaiting sentencing in a trial court.

The APGA also commended INEC Chairman Prof. Yakubu Mahmood for complying with court orders and resolving contempt charges against him.

The NWC issued a warning to other elected officials, including Governor Soludo, to refrain from anti-party activities or face disciplinary measures.

Njoku emphasized that a disciplinary committee has been formed to investigate the suspended members and report back to the NWC. He reiterated the importance of maintaining discipline within the party, stating, “Any member whose actions could embarrass or harm the party will face suspension for six months.”

He continued, “The involved members have shown a blatant disregard for Supreme Court judgments. Despite previous opportunities to correct their course, they aimed to undermine my leadership to ensure the success of their illegal candidates for the upcoming local government elections. This is unacceptable.”

The NWC also condemned Governor Soludo and other APGA-elected officials for their roles in these activities and urged them to correct their behavior or face consequences. Njoku reaffirmed his leadership and emphasized the supremacy of the party.
