Gunmen have. attacked Anambra police station with explosives, resulting in the death of three police operatives and several injuries.
The attack occurred early Tuesday morning at the Oba Police Divisional Headquarters in Idemili South Local Government Area. Additionally, the Oba Civic Centre was also targeted.
Police authorities confirmed that only one corporal was killed, while others were injured. Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the attackers, identified as a secessionist group, used petrol bombs, setting parts of the police station and the civic center on fire. He condemned the attack and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Contrarily, a senior police officer indicated that three officers lost their lives in the incident. This resurgence of violence is attributed to the secessionist group, raising concerns over security in Anambra State.
