New EODU President Solicits Support to Tackle Insecurity in Egume

The new National President of Egume – Ome Descendants’ Union, (EODU), Comrade Sunday Maji, has solicited total support from the illustrious sons and daughters of Egume community to tackle security challenges faced by the people.

Maji promised to liaise with stakeholders and security experts to restructure the security architecture that would facilitate efforts to rid the community of criminal elements that have been terrorising the area in recent times.

Comrade Maji gave the promise at the national delegate convention of the union held at the Community Comprehensive Secondary school, Egume, during the Easter celebration.

He noted that the fight against insecurity in the society should be seen as a collective struggle

He pointed out that the present executive would soon convene a town hall meeting of Gagos, Madakis and Stakeholders of Egume community to find lasting solutions to the current security challenges in the area and it’s suburbs.

Comrade Maji expressed displeasure over the high level of vandalism carried out by suspected hoodlums in the community after the demise of the late Onu. According to Mr. Maji the criminals would not escape the ancestors’ caurse.

Maji appealed to citizens of Egume to rally round the present Executive members to make the palace habitable for the incoming Onu-Egume.

He called for the cooperation of the entire people of the community and it’s environs with the new executive members to enable them achieve maximum results.

The national president tasked all sons and daughters of Egume to use the Easter season to seek for divine intervention in resolving the myriad problems confronting the nation and Kogi state at the moment.

“We must emulate these virtues by being committed to peace, unity, and the development of our dear fatherland. Certainly, we can achieve a lot more together in unity.” He said.

“Let us turn to God to heal our land from every form of insecurity and return us firmly on the path of wholesome economic recovery and prosperity”

Among those elected are Sunday Maji – President, Comrade Musa Moses F.- Vice President, Mr. Gabriel Edicha – Secretary, Okpanachi Attah – Assistant secretary, while the post of financial secretary went to Mr. Samuel Alfa.

Others are Mallam Idris Bako Ibrahim -Treasurer, Comrade Noah Ocheni (JP) P.R.O, Barr. Nuhu Shuaibu – Legal adviser,
Mr. Samuel Idachaba – Almanac Editor, Comrade Idris Alfa- Auditor while the immediate past President, Alhaji Muhammed Lawal was appointed ground Patron of the union respectively.
