A Chieftain of the opposition Labour Party, Bayo Averehi has lambasted the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), for using the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), to subvert the will of Nigerians in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Averehi, who made his position known while addressing journalists in Lokoja on Sunday, rejected the outcome of the Presidential election which produced Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu as President-elect.

Averehi described the election results declared by INEC as great injustice and a rape of Nigeria’s democracy.

He noted that the outcome of the election was condemned by both local and international observers, thereby, making Nigeria a laughing stock among comity of nations.

He also observed that INEC hurriedly declared results without considering the reported cases of election anomalies.

While noting that, many Nigerians have lost confidence on the credibility of INEC to conduct a free, fair and credible election, the LP Chieftain appealed to their supporters to remain calm, assuring that, the party’s mandate will be retrieved through legal means.
