Enugu APC reps candidate dies in road crash

The All Progressives Congress’s (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South federal constituency in Enugu State in the forthcoming general election, Mr. Ejike Omeje is dead.

He reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday in a ghastly motor accident along the Erina-Edem-Ani road in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Although there is no official statement yet from his family, but a source close to him confirmed his death to our reporter in Nsukka on Tuesday.

The source said that Omeje was driving along his Edem-Ani community road around 3 am on Tuesday when he had an accident with his car and died.

“Yes, Ejike is dead, he was confirmed dead by doctors at Bishop Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka where he was rushed to after he had an accident with his car along Edem-Ani his community road.

“The accident happened around 3 am on Tuesday, but I don’t know what triggered it and he was alone in his car when the unfortunate incident happened,” the source said.

The source said further that his body has been deposited at the mortuary.

When contacted Mr. Ejiofor Agada, the Director General of Ejike Omeje’s campaign organization confirmed the incident but declined further comment.

“Please am sorry, I can’t talk more, I will talk to you later, thank you,” Agada said.

It would be recalled that Omeje had on 28th October 2022 inaugurated and appointed his campaign office and councils at number 5 Aku road, Nsukka, where he promised issues-based campaigns and quality representation if elected. Sun.
