FG Awards Contract For Repair of Lokoja-Shintaku-Dekina-Anyigba Road

The federal government has awarded contact for the repair of the dilapidated Lokoja-Shintaku-Dekina-Anyigba Road in Kogi state.
The contract was awarded to Tec. Construction Company that handled the just completed Ganaja Flying over Bridge in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital few days ago in Abuja
The development Our Correspondent learnt will address challenges of bad condition of the road linking the people of the eastern flank of Kogi State, particularly part of Bassa Local Governnent Area.
Confirming the development in a chart with Our Reporter on Friday, the Federal Controller of Works for Kogi State, Engr. Jimoh Kajogbola, said he had not seen the scope of the work involved in the contract to know if the work would include the road from Ganaja junction flying over to Ganaja village.
The Federal Controller of Works said the contract was awarded to Tec. construction company that handled the construction of Ganaja junction Flying over bridge in Lokoja.
He expressed the hope that if the work covers the area mentioned, there would be a major work on the remaining portion of the road waiting for completion.
Investigation by our Correspondent showed that the federal government awarded contract for the emergency repair of the 7-kilometre Ganaja road Novement 2021.
Our Correspondent further reports that while substantial portion of the road, especially from Baptist High School to Aniebo housing estate, has been completed, the remaining portion from the axis to Ganaja village begs for completion.
Engr. Kajogbola assured that as soon as the contractors receive mobilisation, they would move to site to begin work.
Our Correspondent reports that the people of Bass Local Governnent Area, where Shintaku road passes through have been calling on the government for the repair of Shintaku road the appalling deplorable condition of which they said had cost them a lot of difficulty in movement of goods and services for years.
They have been doing the clarion call through Grace FM,a private radio station based in Lokoja on its programme tagged, “Oga driver” which features from 7 30 to about 7.50 every morning from Monday to Friday as well as other media platforms.
