The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded three suspected oil vandals arrested along Lokoja/Okene highway.
Parading the suspects at the State Command headquarters, the Public Relation Officer, CSC Alex Agiri said the arrest was made possible by the Commandant General Tactical Team set up to patrol and arrest suspected vandals of the nation’s critical infrastructure.
The suspects; Mohammed Yusuf, who is the driver of the truck, Mohammed Idris and Usman Siaka who are motor boys were handed over to the Kogi State Commandant, John Kayode Oyinloye represented by the State PRO for further interrogation and prosecution.
According to the PRO, the truck is loaded 40,000 litres of the product suspected to be black oil without legal waybill from Warri heading to Kano with truck registration number Plateau BUU,592 ZL before the arrest.
He warned other criminally minded individuals or groups to desist from sabotaging the Federal Government efforts aimed at revamping the economy and protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure, pointing out that the Command is poised to carry out its constitutional duties of arresting and prosecuting anyone caught.
CSC Agiri restated the CG’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives, property and critical infrastructure as enshrined in the Constitution.
Speaking on behalf of the suspected vandals , the driver of the truck, Mohammed Yusuf, said the products were loaded from KoKo in Delta State from a container and that they were not aware that the waybill given was not genuine.
