The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra has raised the alarm over reported cases of some persons allegedly claiming they were authorised to raise funds for its security arm, the Eastern Security Network.
This was as the group warned that Igbos should be on the alert for a possible attack by suspected criminals masquerading as Fulani herdsmen in the South-East geopolitical zone.
The secessionist group stated these in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, on Tuesday.
The statement read, “We, the global family and movement of IPOB, under the command and leadership of our great leader Mazi Kanu, wish to sound a note of warning over worrisome information coming to the global family of IPOB in Biafraland and to particularly warn those going around collecting money from politicians with the name of the ESN to stop.
We maintain that no politician, businessman and religious leader should for any reason part with money to anyone flashing the name of the ESN security outfit without following the proper channels. We encourage our people to report anyone masquerading as IPOB-ESN using any trick to collect money from people to any IPOB family. Anyone giving money to such criminals may be ignorantly funding criminal activities against our land and people.
“We want our people to know that IPOB leadership has never authorised anyone to threaten and coarse our people to support the ESN. Hence, such person or group are scammers and therefore, should be regarded and treated as such. The ESN was established to secure our land from Fulani terrorists and are funded by selfless contributions of IPOB family members and other individuals who want our land secured. All politicians in the eastern states should stop encouraging criminalities and focus on liberating the land given to them by given to us by God Almighty Chukwu Okike Abiama, who is in charge and in heaven.
“Any individual, corporate body, organisation that wishes to support the security of our land should follow the proper channels.
There is only one ESN under IPOB with disciplined and powerful leadership globally known as the Directorate Of State whose structural leadership pattern is “Command and Control.”
“Our people should realise that there’s a huge fight coming against them from Fulani controlled government and terrorists and we should wait for them because they are coming.
“If you haven given money through anyone with good intentions to supporting the IPOB/ESN and the IPOB-DOS wasn’t notified of such funs, then, you were scammed.
“If you paid money and had not been recognised and appreciated by the top hierarchy of IPOB, please, demand for a refund if it was given with good intentions or consider it a bad-business if such was intended to run down the struggle for Biafra restoration project.
“Our stern warning goes to those defrauding and forcefully extorting people of their hard-earned money with IPOB or ESN on their lips, such people must desist from such criminal activity immediately or face the wrath of IPOB. There’s no consultant, taskforce, middlemen nor group appointed by the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People Of Biafra for fund drive. Any time we decide to have other channels of raising funds for ESN Volunteers in their continuous effort to secure our land such information will always be put to the public domain and subsequently announced though Radio Biafra. At this moment, the only channel for any monetary support for the ESN is through IPOB leadership (the DOS). Those who genuinely want to support our Homeland Security should contact the IPOB-DOS through the appreciate channels.
“IPOB remains whiter than white and whiter than snow, still proud itself as the most disciplined global movement, we are intact, formidable, documented, verifiable, transparent among family members, yet, we are on a freedom fight and would never permit being taken for granted. Our hallowed name cannot be taken for crime shield as such comes with a costly price. Criminals and Scammers are warned to avoid us. Don’t claim IPOB if you can’t prove your membership even if you’re a Biafran. We are all Biafrans, however, IPOB freedom fighters are distinguished.”Punch
