The Office of Kogi State Audit General on Monday, began a two week training for 100 of its staff on Computer Application to keep them abreast on the modern techniques in performing their official functions.
The Kogi State Auditor-General, Yakubu Okala while declaring the in-house training open at the Conference Hall of the State Secretariat, Lokoja, said that the effort is aimed at ensuring that the Audit Staff migrate from the analogue ways of writing reports to the digital age.
The Auditor-General reiterated the commitment of the present administration in Kogi State to install accountability and transparency in all its financial transactions hence the desire to embark on the in-house ICT training for all the audit staff in the state civil service.
“We as government, wants to carry all staff along in exposing their knowledge and potentials to meet up with modern technology in their operations so as to enhance efficiency and productivity in the system.
“We advice the beneficiaries of this training to see the opportunity as rare privilege and should endeavour to take it very serious.
“Let me use this opportunity to warn that any staff of the Board found in sharp practices in the discharge of his or her duties will not only be shown the way out of the service but be made to face the full wrath of the law. Okala appeals
He also admonished them that as civil servants, they should deviate from involving themselves in partisan politics and remain 100 percent loyal to the government of the day.
