The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its sale of expression of interest and nomination forms by 4 days.
The initial deadline for forms sale was Friday, but in a statement on Wednesday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka, said the exercise had been extended to Tuesday.
In a revised timetable issued by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the last day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents is now slated for May 11, 2022.
According to the statement, congresses to elect local government area (LGA), state and national delegates will now be held from Thursday, 12th May to Saturday, 14th May, 2022.
Meanwhile, the ruling party has recorded an increase of aspirants in the 2023 race, especially for the office of the President.
On Wednesday alone, three chieftains of the party joined the Aso Rock race.
They are Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta; and Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the party.
Commenting on this, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the APC, said it is good for democracy.
“The more the merrier. The more they come, the more challenging it becomes for you to think deeply, focus on issues and be ready to serve and Nigeria. It’s all about service, it’s nothing else. Think wisely, get committed to your thinking to serve the nation and bring progress and prosperity to the lives of Nigerians,” Tinubu, an APC Presidential aspirant, had told reporters.
