Tazan Foundation has distributed food items to over hundred persons in Lokoja and Okene Local Government Areas of Kogi State, for Sallah celebration.

Speaking to newsmen in Okene after the distribution, the founder of the Foundation, Amb. Tazan Onimisi Saahibfatiu noted that the gesture was part of the corporate social responsibility of the foundation to felicitate with the beneficiaries which cut across 2 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to him, his foundation has continually kept touching lives and showcasing to the world that other segments of society lack various amenities to live a blissful life.

Tazan said: “We felt that by staying at our various homes merry-making with our friends, families and loved ones, we might not be touching lives as compared to this and wouldn’t attract enough rewards from Allah. Also, this is our own way of reminding people out there that there so many people who don’t have access to food and other things to live a pleasant life’’.

“Every year, we try to put smiles on less privileged people, the needy, most especially those living on the street. Celebrating Sallah is only good when everybody is happy. Every festival we put smiles on the faces of less privileged”

“We have our volunteers across the two LGA doing this on our behalf, and it is part of our religion. The essence of Sallah is to share with friends and those who are in need,” he said.

He enjoined well-meaning Nigerians not to leave the care of the less privileged in the hands of the government alone.

“I want Muslims, organisations, industries and well-meaning Nigerians to contribute their own quota towards the well beings of the less privileged.

They are just unfortunate to find themselves in that situation. I want them to come to a place like this at least once in a while to extend their hands of generosity to people here as this would help impact their lives positively; government alone cannot do this,” He said.

Community heads at both Okene and Lokoja who pleaded anonymity thanked Tazan Foundation for the consistency in reaching out to the needy, praying that Allah will continue to bless and increase the Foundation in all capacities.
