Eid-El-Fitri: Kogi CP orders Watertight Security

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka, has ordered for Watertight Security to ensure a hitch free Eid-El-Fitri celebration across the state.

The commissioner gave the order at a meeting with Senior Police Officers in Lokoja, on Friday.

He charged all Area Commanders, Tactical and Operational Commanders as well as the Divisional Police Officers to beef up security within their Areas of Responsibilities and ensure massive deployment of patrol teams along the major highways before, during and after the celebration.

The commissioner also enjoined them to ensure undercover operations to black spots, flash points, and other vulnerable criminal spots to nip in the bud all forms of crimes and criminality across the State.

” Make sure that detection of crimes are prompt to serve as effective deterrent to all criminals”

He reiterated the command’s level of preparedness, determination and commitment in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring safety of lives and property.

He therefore, urged the good people of the State to continue to collaborate with the security Forces with credible and useful information on the activities of criminal elements in order to curtail their acts.

House of Representatives aspirant for Ankpa/ Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Aliyu Akuh has expressed satisfaction with the transparency and meticulous screening exercise for aspirants across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Hon. Aliyu Akuh a two term Member of the kogi state House of Assembly and ex-Deputy Speaker in the fifth Kogi state Assembly stated this at the sidelines of the PDP Screening exercise for the State and National Assemblies in Lokoja.

Akuh, while commending the exercise for its hitch free and without high handedness, said if the process is maintained to the end, will ensure that the best aspirants emerges at the primary to contest the general elections.

He noted that his confidence in winning the ticket of his party is based on his interaction with the people at the grassroots and PDP hierarchy across the constituency and the feedback he had received, has become his source of encouragement.

The former lawmaker said , while in the House , he has initiated and completed numerous legacy projects across Omala Constituency which are available for verification and confirmation.

He added that the acknowledgement of his people of his performance coupled with his integrity and personal relationship with both the party and the electorate would place him ahead of other aspirants.

He disclosed that while in the House as the leader of the PDP caucus, he never betrayed the party even when it was obviously dangerous to personal safety not to dump the party.

He added that his resolve to remain with the Party through out his tenure, despite mounting challenges, ensured the PDP to remain afloat in the Hallowed.Chamber.

He challenge the people to place each aspirant on the front burner of antecedents for capacity , empathy, concern for the party and constituency projects, saying he is tested and trusted that ought to take a “bow and go” He solicited.
