Kogi to Jack Up Efforts on Control of HIV

The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Agency for the Control of Aids, Dr Yunusa Sheidu, has expressed the hope that the fight and control of HIV in the state will scale up when the HIV Trust Fund 3 is accessed by the state government.

Yunusa gave the assurance at the flag-off of the Nutritional Support Programme for children living and affected by HIV/AIDs in the state organised by Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative which was held in Lokoja yesterday.

The Executive Secretary, KOSACA pledged the readiness of the present administration in the state to continue to prioritise health interventions that would address killer diseases and public health emergencies.

He applauded Dual Care Foundation Initiative for its forward thinking in mobilising the private sector support for persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, pointing out that her efforts were making the desired impact.

He tasked citizens and other NGOs to work in partnership with the state government in the fight against HIV/AIDs, as well as in the provision of support, describing the efforts of Dual Care Initiative and Prevention as worthy of emulation.
