An aspiring lawmaker for Ughelli North constituency 1 at the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Elijah Michael Idiovwa Jimmy on Thursday declared his intention to liaise with other legislators in the Assembly to ensure passage of legislation compelling oil firms operating in the state to relocate their head office and pay their tax to the state.

Idiovwa made his intentions known at Orogun while consulting with the elders and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Ughelli North constituency .

He noted that since 1999 the seat of  Ughelli North constituency 1 at the Delta State House of Assembly has always been left open for all contestants rather than bonafide indugenes.

While declaring his intention to run for the seat under the platform of PDP at the forthcoming elections, he said he had all it takes to take over the seat from the incumbent opposition party,  if elected.

He said,  “I have the capacity, resources, knowledge and all it takes to win the seat of Ughelli North constituency 1 from the opposition party, the All Progressive Party, APC, come 2023 general elections if elected”.

He also spoke of his determination to provide a functional Constituency office to be cited at Agbarha-Otor where complaints from the constituents would be received for necessary attention.

He also assured of skill acquisition and good atmosphere for good education and learning for the people of the constituency through effective legislations if given the mandate to fly the Party’s flag come 2023.
