Commissioner Apologizes to Communities in Lokoja Metropolis Over Lingering Water Scarcity

Kogi Commissioner for Water Resources, Abdulmumin Danga has given an apology to communities within Lokoja Metropolis over the Lingering water scarcity running to over one month now.

The commissioner in a statement made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Monday, appealed to the people to exercise patience over the nasty development which he said has melted untold hardship on citizens.

Danga explained that the scarcity of Water was not intensional as some people have beginning to read so many meanings to it without proper investigation on the reasons why they’ve not be having Water Supply.

The Non-Supply of Water for the long period he said was as a result of the damage from the major pipeline supplying Water from the main source at Lokoja Greater Water Works to the main reservoir before distribution to the populace.

According to the Commissioner” It is very pertinent at this time for us to rectify it because of the large quantity of water we’re loosing through the damage anytime there’s supply.

“I want to appeal again that there’s no better time to do it than this dry season because of the marshy or Swampy nature of the vicinity where the pipeline is situated, by God’s Grace, every concerted efforts are in place both days and nights to finish the work as soon as possible.

“I also want to use this medium to inform the General public that GYB led Administration will Continue to Serve and place the Welfare of all kogites and other Settlers above anything because we’re here because of you”
