Kogi Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Wemi Jones, has decorated Ukwenya Benedict Ojimaojo, who emerged the 3rd best overall candidate in the 2021 National Olympiad Examination with a bronze medal.

Benedict also bagged 6 Distinctions, 3 Credits in WAEC, and 5 Distinctions, 4 Credits in NECO examinations in 2021.

Presenting the bronze medal and certificate of excellence to Benedict at the weekend in Lokoja, Jones congratulated the young talent for distinguishing himself and making the state proud.

The Commissioner reiterated the renewed commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello to supporting young talents like Benedict in the state.

The Rector of St. Kizito Seminary, Idah, from where Benedict graduated, Rev. Father William Edoje Okolo, whose institution was also awarded, said the school operates on paltry funding and needed more support from government.

He solicited for a school bus from state government for ease of administration.

Benedict was to go to Singapore in 2021; but stalled by Covid-19, wrote the Olympiad examination online in Nigeria.
