The management of Kogi State University has officially announced that the institution is now to be formally known and called Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.

The Registrar of the university, Alhaji Nuhu Ahmodu Ahmed, disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to Our Correspondent.

Our Correspondent, however, recalls that the University was renamed after the first democratically elected Governor of Kogi State, late Prince Abubakar Audu, who died about three years ago and whose administration established the institution about 30 years ago.

Ahmed said the change in the nomenclature of the university followed the passage of the law “to repeal and reenact the law to establish Prince Abubakar Audu University” by the state House of Assembly, and assented to by the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
