A tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded at Chris-Tee filling station near Boromio roundabout, Onitsha in Anambra State on Sunday.
Though the remote cause of the explosion was not ascertained but the men of the State Fire Service and FRSC Rescue Team were said to be on the ground working very hard to curtail the inferno.
According to the First Information Report on the fire incident, as put together by the acting Sector Public Education Officer Margret Onabe, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye A Irelewuyi implored the public to be calm and patient, while the Fire Service battled the fire and prevented it’s escalation while the area has been cordoned off and traffic diverted.
