Omala Local Government Executive Chairman in Kogi state, Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh has called on the people of the area, home and abroad to come out en masse to register in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Aboh said he has provided easy way of enrollment for people who may not have access to ongoing online pre enrollment process.

He made the call in his office during series of meetings and interactions held with Councillors, groups, associations, among others in Abejukolo, headquarters of the Council Area.

The Chairman maintained that, the hard copy of the online forms, in addition to other logistic arrangements made available will go a long way to ameliorate the stress in accessing the internet and reduce the expected time to be spent at enrollment centers when physical capturing eventually commences by the commission.

The council boss charged the people not to affiliate the exercise to any particular political party, saying that apart from boosting the area’s voting population, voters card also serves as means of certified identity for the citizenry.

“Words have been sent to worship centers, heads of communities, traditional rulers, learning centers, markets, use of town criers, among others to further enlighten their congregations and escalate the information on importance of the exercise.

“Subsequently, meetings will be held with stakeholders, cutting across party and religious lines to aggressively carry out continuous orientation/sensitisation” he said.
