States in the North Central Geo – Political Zone in Nigeriawill om Tuesday converge in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital to hold discussions on MEDIUM TERM NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN (MTNDP), to facilitate effective delivery of democracy dividends to the people.
The two days Zonal Technical meeting holding in Kogi between 14th-15th of this month is targeted at boosting accelerated development in the zone.
The meeting is to elicit inputs of States in the North Central Zone into the draft MEDIUM TERM NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN (MTNDP)
The new approach is a Top Bottom approach which allows for more inclusive State participation in the conceptualization, development and monitoring of the plan.
A Statetement by the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, said that the approach became necessary so that the State’s can own the plan.
He said the major objectives of the meeting is aimed at achieving an effective participation of subnational in conceptualization, development, implementation and monitoring of the plan.
Kogi he pointed out is hosting the two days event organized by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Abuja.
Participating states include; Kogi, Nasarawa, Kwara, Plateau, Niger, Benue and FCT.
