In a bid to create jobs for the unemployed youths in Nigeria and boost the nation’s economy, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), is training another batch of 100 youths, selected from across the 21 local government areas of Kogi state in Crop Production and Animal Husbandry.
According the NDE, the training which is under her sustainable agricultural scheme of its rural employment programme will serve as alternative means of engaging the unemployed persons and diversification of the nation’s economy.
Addressing the trainees during the orientation programme held in Lokoja over the weekend, the Acting Director General of NDE, Mall. Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo who was represented by Mr. Nkem Ekeamadi said the training is part of the fulfillment of the mandate of the directorate to create jobs for the teeming unemployed persons.
In his Speech, the Kogi state coordinator of NDE, Mall. Zakari Abubakar explained that the training which will last for three months will comprise of both theoretical and practical sessions in crop production and animal husbandry.
Mall. Zakari also said that the trainees will be paid monthly stipends and the instructors will also receive allowances from NDE.
Mr. Augustine Abimaje who responded on behalf of the trainees thanked the management and staff of NDE for the privilege given to them to acquire skill in agriculture and promised to take the training seriously.
