A Niger Delta sociopolitical group, the Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI), has declared that “there are many indications of Nigeria’s likely break up”.
“But such break up may not necessarily be in six months time as predicted in some quarters”, the group remarked.
Making the assertions in a signed statement made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State on Monday, the IPDI President, Comrade Austin Ozobo insisted that it has “premonition that Nigeria will not last longer”.
The statement read in part, “You know Nigeria is a product of 1914 amalgamation treaty. You equally know that treaty has expired since 2014. Except we sit again and dialogue our being together, Nigeria will disintegrate in no distant time.
“The activities of Boko Haram, herdsmen and the campaign for Oduduwa, Biafra and Niger Delta republics clearly indicate that Nigeria is suffering from paralysis and it needs divine efforts to survive”
