Insecurity:  Delta Police Command moves for improved synergy with sister agencies

PHOTOS:  Delta Police hold send forth for the immediate past two CPs over the weekend

Worried by the threatened security in Delta State, the Commissioner of Police for the State Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali has commenced moves to ensure improved synergy between the Command and all other sister agencies across the State.

In this regard, the Commissioner of Police has embarked on an extensive courtesy visit to the various institutions in the State on the need to have a healthy working relationship between the police and sister agencies.

So far, the CP has visited the Director, Department of State Security Service in the State, Mr Ademola Adebiyi, the office of the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Delta sector,  Corps Commander Uche Peter Wihioka, Nigerian Navy ship, Naval Base, Warri, Nigerian Air Force, Delta State, among others.

The Commissioner of Police expressed his desire for peaceful coexistence between the police and members of the other sister agencies saying that “only a close partnership and cooperation between the police and  them will help curb the insecurity in the state”. 

In their various responses, all the sister agencies visited by the Commissioner of Police appreciated the gesture by the Police boss.

They also stressed the need to be on the same page with the police as the police is the lead agency when it comes to security in the state.

The Commissioner of Police also visited the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Asaba, where critical issues were discussed.

He pleaded with the medical director of the FMC, Asaba, Dr. Victor A. Osiatuma that any patient with gunshot injuries should be treated “even without police report, as it is important to save life first, that after saving life, then the police can be informed for further action, but save life first”.

The CP further visited NNPC, DESOPADEC, DPR, Nigeria Ports Aughority (NPA), all in Warri, Delta State, admonishing them all to continue to partner with the police, and ensure that Delta State is safe for all.

Meanwhile, it was all smiles at the Delta State Police command over the weekend as the Command organized a send forth for the two immediate past Commissioners of Police in the state, AIG Hafiz Inuwa, who is the currently the AIG zone 13, Dunokofia-Ukpo, Anambra State, and CP Adeleke Bode Adeyinka, the present Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State, in recognition of their outstanding leadership and invaluable contributions while serving Delta State as commissioners of police.

In attendance were representatives of the state government, Hon. Emaziye  O. Peter  and the Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon.Justice Marshall Umukoro as well as some traditional rulers in the State.
