Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) has called for zoning and rotational presidency among the six geo-political zone.

This, he said, is key to peace, tranquility and development of the nation.

He said the presidency should also be rotated among the 19 Northern states, adding no ethnic group is better than the other.

He spoke at the weekend at the 100th anniversary of Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA).

He also said Nigeria should henceforth have two Vice Presidents.

He said one of the Vice Presidents should be from the zone producing the President while the other should be elected during the presidential election.

According to him: “Presidency should be zoned and rotated among the six geo-political zones of the country.

“Also, among the 19 northern states the Nigerian presidential position should be rotated.”
