Gov Uzodimma pledges to rebuild destroyed police stations

Imo State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma promised to assist in rebuilding the facilities destroyed during the protest.

This is as the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu has condemned the killing of security agencies and burning of some police stations by hoodlums during the ENDSARS protest in the state.

He made this known in Owerri during a meeting with traditional rulers and other stakeholders in security in the state.

The IGP who is on a tour of states to ascertain the level of losses recorded and to boost the morale of police officers said much as the Force recognizes the right of citizens to protest such must be done within the confines of the law.

He said vigilante groups would soon be instituted to strengthen community policing and appealed to traditional rulers to give the outfit necessary support.

Uzodinma reiterated the commitment of his administration to collaborate with police to ensure adequate security of lives and property.
