The former Deputy Governor of Imo State Prince Eze Madumere has appealed to an end to ongoing destruction of lives and property, with wanton looting going on across the country.

Madumere position was expressed through his Adviser on Media & Publicity, Uche Onwuchekwa.

He also frowned at those fueling ethnic crises by making misguided statements and beating drums of war, describing such as unpatriotic.

He called on the federal Government to investigate to fish out those who shot at the #EndSARS protesters, an action he attributed to the unfortunate turn of events where hoodlums have continued to superintend anarchy across the country.

Part of the statement read:

“My heart bleeds seeing the wanton destruction of lives across the country. I want to appeal to Nigerians to stop and tow the path of peace.

“The shooting of the #peaceful #EndSARS protesters must be investigated and the culprit made to face justice. I believe it was that devilish act that threw the country into anarchy. Hoodlums took the advantage and unleashed mayhem across the country.

“It is also unpatriotic to listen to a few unpatriotic elements fueling ethnic crisis as checks revealed that these persons do not reside in the country. Let them keep off because the protesters’ agitation has no ethnic coloration.

“From all indications, the message of the protest has been communicated and the country has responded not just by disbanding Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) but Commissions of Inquiry have been constituted across the country. President Muhammadu Buhari has also addressed the country, promising a holistic reform of the Nigeria police and to look into other critical issues raised.

“Let peace reign. I believe that no right thinking leader will sweep the demands of the youths under the carpet. Destruction of public structures is as good as destroying your sweat because it was from your taxes and commonwealth that those structures were built.“There is no gainsaying the facts that the Police leadership and officers have also learnt their lessons.“They are paid from tax payers money and must treat Nigerians, the youths with dignity as those who had shown diligence and worked with human face are also being praised by the youths.
