NECO releases 2018 results…over 70% score credits in 5 subjects

National Examinations Council, NECO, has released the June/July 2018 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations, SSCE, with 71 percent of the candidates making five credits and above, inclu-ding English Language and Mathematics.
Similarly, 90.5 percent scored five credits and above, irrespective of English language and Mathematics.
A statement by NECO’s Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council, Alhaji Abubakar Gana, also revealed a decrease in examination malpractices.
Gana said about 9,000 of the candidates that registered for the examinations did not sit for the papers, noting that “1,041,536 registered for the examination, while 1,032,729 sat for it.
“Comparative analysis of candidates with five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics for 2017 and 2018, shows 70.85 percent for 2017 and 71.48 percent for 2018— an increase of 0.63 percent.”
He directed candidates to access their results online.
