Odion Ighalo sets new goal record in Chinese league

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has reached a new milestone, equaling the record of the most goals scored in a single game in the Chinese Super League.

Ighalo was in fine form for his Chinese club Changchun Yatai as he notched four solid goals to wrecked Guizhou Hengfeng far from home on Saturday.

The 28-year old put his side ahead in the 24th minute after venturing up to convert a penalty before his second in the 38th minute as Chen Jingang’s men went into the halftime break with a 3-1 lead.

Fan Wang scored for Guizhou Hengfeng in the 60th minute to lessen the lead but Ighalo went ahead to scored two more goals to give his side 3 vital points.

Ighalo completed his harvest of goals when he scored the fourth goal for his side in the 86th minute and still went ahead to score his fifth in the 90th minute which was the last goal of the game, and hand his side their greatest away win of the season.
