Chief Dr. Chekwas Okorie, National Chairman of United Progressive Party (UPP) marked his 65th birtbday today, March 19. Sixty five is the age of fulfilment and accomplishment. For this leading light who has been championing the cause of Ndigbo for more than 40 years, he has indeed achievd more than 65 landmarks.
In wishing Oje Ozi Ndigbo a happy birthday, here are 20 things we can take away from his life and struggles.
1. He has been a consistent and vibrant advocate for a just, better and equitable society.
2. He has been selfless in his political crusades and battles.
3. He is one among five persons who have championed the Igbo cause more passionately and more dedicated. Without him founding APGA, Ndigbo would have no political voice in Nigeria today.
4. He is a pacesetter. He is just one of four Nigerians dead or alive with the rare credit of forming more than two political parties in their lifetime. He founded UPGA, APGA and now UPP.
5. He values truth and justice above effervescent friendship.
