Olubadan to Politicians: Do good to Nigerians

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 has called on politicians of different ideological persuasions who are struggling for power to do good to Nigerians.
The monarch gave this plea when he received a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship aspirant, Professor Taoheed Adedoja on Sunday in his Popoyemoja, Ibadan Palace.
He said; “I am not a politician, I am a monarch. The doors of Olubadan palace are wide open to all-irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliations. But, as a monarch, I know where the shoe pinches. This palace is daily inundated with requests for financial assistance. And as a human being, there is a limit to which we can help the needy.”
The Olubadan then charged politicians to come up with more of social programmes such as N-Power to cater for more people in the society.
Noting that Professor Adedoja is a true son of Ibadanland with a variety of public service experience as Minister of Special Duties and Sports, Commissioner of Education at the State level, Chairman of the Oyo State Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Olubadan then prayed to God to help the Prof. in fulfilling his heart’s desire of leading the PDP.
The first class monarch particularly expressed very deep appreciation of the members of the royal household to the academic for the role he played as Chairman, Olubadan Advisory Committee which joined hand with well-meaning people to give Kabiyesi a befitting coronation on March 4-5, 2016.
