A group under the aegis of “Imo Vanguard of Truth” has slammed those defending the arrest and arraign of one Mr. Aku Obidinma popularly known as Abdul as an activist, saying they know little or nothing about the embattled notorious former aide to the Deputy Governor.

The group made this assertion in a Press Statement signed by its President, Mr. Kelvin Nwankwo.

The group insisted that Mr. Aku Obidinma remains a black sheep in the community of Social Crusaders, Civil Society Groups and others, alleging that he is one of those fake comrades that conceal their real character behind an antic disposition just to eke out a living.

According to Kelvin Nwakwo, his group hearing about the arrest of Mr. Obidinma who was presented as an activist, they got up to face the challenges of getting him freed with other like minds but were taken aback by their investigations. His words reading in part; “we quickly sent our men to investigate the matter and to follow up with whatever help we could offer. But we were surprised at the charges against him.” We realized that he was on the pay roll of the Deputy Governor of Imo State and not only that but also his kinsman. The truth is that he over stepped his bounds as a supposed activist. Getting to the cross of the matter, we realized that Mr. Aku Obidinma defrauded those on the Social Media team of the Deputy Governor for about three years. He revealed that they got the revelation from one of the members of the social media team of Governor Okorocha who claimed to have been affected by the despicable action of Mr. Obidinma.

According to Nwankwo, he said Obidinma’s distrustful act was not what landed him in trouble. He explained that Aku Obidinma who left for the guilt of his actions from the office of the Deputy Governor of Imo State chose to use Prince Madumere as means to making a living thereby making him as a negotiating tool to politicians. He described such as not only treacherous but an act of blackmail.

He condemned in strong terms a situation where a man who claims to be an activist rather than restrict himself to issues that boarder on policies, good governance, accountability and calling to questions actions and inactions of government that affect day to day lives of the people, Abdul descended so low by allowing his emotions to make him settle for a vocation of extortionist.

The statement also commended the Deputy Governor for having a large heart to withdraw the first matter he had in court against Aku Obidinma and Horn Newspaper after elders and members of the clergy had appealed to him. He also wondered why Mr. Obdidnma continued with his blackmail after personnel of the State Security Service had warned him to desist from the act of blackmail and inciting the public against the establishment without any form of evidence to his claims.

While appealing to the State Government to tamper justice with mercy, he called on the community of real Social Crusaders, the Civil Society to come together and weed itself of bad eggs, the act he said if not taken seriously will not only bring them under condemnation but will make the monsters being fought against grow so much strength against the people.
