A member of Board of Trustees (BOT) of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, who is the Ogirisi Igbo, has described former Governor Peter Obi who defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a prodigal son and urged him to return to the party (APGA) which according to him gave him (Obi) the mandate to be the two- time governor of the state.
His words,”he should come back to APGA and take over what is meant for him. He wouldn’t have become the governor if not for APGA”.
On the Governor Willie Obiano’s second tenure bid come 2017 he said, “North senatorial zone must produce the Governor, so Obiano will complete his two tenures, there is no vacancy in the Government Home for now”.
Also on the intra party crisis in APGA which has led to litigation and division he said that APGA constitution does not allow for litigation.
“Maybe the members who have gone to court are new comers to the party”. Court can’t settle in- house crisis in APGA.”
On preparation for the 2017 governorship election he said, “Anambra is an APGA state, we don’t have rivals, this is a state where PDP, APC and others are non existence”.
“PDP and APC do not have the muscle to quantify what APGA has done in the state especially on security because without security you will not be able to develop”, he stated.
“It was Governor Obiano that buried the souls of Biafra war heroes that have been hovering around tormenting people because they have not been given befitting burial ceremony”
The governor he revealed has embarked on massive agricultural production and doled out N20million to each of the 177 communities in the state for any special project of their choice aimed at cushioning the effect of the economic recession.
According to him, “in Anambra state workers are paid on or before 28th of every month, we are not owing salaries and pensioners also smile to the bank monthly”.
“Obiano came in as at the time he is most needed which is the recession.
Look at our roads, look at the new Awka capital and his interest in education as son of educationists”
