For allegedly not affording #100,000 to pay as bail condition after
five consecutive days of incarceration in police cell at Area Command
Awka,Anambra State, when she was arrested and probably to end her case by the policeman that arrested her, Mrs Caroline Nkemdilichukwu Chukwulobe,
has been transferred and dumped at the National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency, NDLEA, cell at ’33’ near Onitsha to commence another torture tenure
which she has been on her fourth day now.

Her trouble started when a policeman that is familiar with her family
came to her Umuota Obosi residence, Idemili North Local Government
Area, saying that the motorcycle that was packed there was stolen by
her son, Somto Chukwulobe, and that he will arrest her if she did not
produce the son.

All pleas that the son was not around but would come to Awka on return
fell on deaf ear as he whisked her away with the help of a colleague
that came with him.

On arrival she was told to bring #100,000 for bail or that her case
would be made worse .

After five days of not affording the money, another allegation was that she
swallowed and wrapped cocaine in bread by the policeman that arrested her and taken to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency where she is now dumped.

At NDLEA the daughter to the detainee, Queen Chukwulobe who was
accompanied by their counsel, Barr Pat Agbata, accused her uncle of
being the brain behind their mother incarceration.

She revealed, “that policeman that arrested my mother was sent by my
uncle who lives in the same house with him in Agulu and since the
death of my father he has been attacking us and trying to make us
spend money for no just cause”

“The issue of stolen bike has since been settled. Somebody brought
bike and borrowed money from Somto and the owner has collected back
his bike, what offense has my mother committed, because she could not
give them #100000 as bail condition?”
