Bauchi State Government Constructs 37 Boreholes, 18 Health Care Centres.

Determined to eliminate water-borne diseases and make public health services available to the people especially in those in rural areas, in line with the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has approved the immediate construction and drilling of 37 solar-powered boreholes and 18 prototype primary health care centres in all the local government areas of the State excluding Bauchi and Dass Local Government Areas.

The approval, under the Sustainable Development Goals programmes, SDGs, also includes the construction of 18 staff accommodation quarters, 18 VIP toilets, 18 units of hospital equipments as well as the purchase and supply of 6 ambulances, drilling and installation of 55 hand pump fitted boreholes in the selected communities and renovation of one primary health care centre in Dass Local Government Area.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on development partners and non-governmental organizations, Alhaji Mansur Manu Soro says a project advisory committee, saddled with the responsibility of overseeing and implementing the project has confirmed that contractors were expected to mobilize to site latest Monday, 25th April 2016.
