DPO Reads Riot Act to Ihiala Community

Disturbed by the palpable fear that grips the people of Uzoakwa Ihiala, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State, as preparations have been concluded to pick among four candidates, Uchenna Nsofor, Chuma Nzeribe, Chuka Amangbo and Eugene Izuora who becomes their leader, that is, Ezeala Dike of Umudike, the Divisional police Officer, DPO in charge of Ihiala Police Division. Mr Chris Aimionowane, warned the people not to see the enthronement of their leader as a do or die affair.

He sounded the note of warning at the palace of the Monarch, Oluoha Cosmas Okechukwu, in Ihiala.

According to him “we will not hesitate to arrest the offender for him to face the wrath of the law”.

He gave the warning shortly after the monarch, Oluoha, advised the contenders to go home and follow the normal process in the selection of the Ezeala Dike of Umudike.

Earlier, one of the contenders, Nsofor expressed dissatisfaction that some people wanted to hijack the office.

He said, “Some desperate people want to hijack the post but it is not done that way”.

“There is an interior motive behind the action of my closest rival. I feel kind of disturbed until it is finalized and I emerge victorious”, he stated.

He said, “the picking of Ezeala of Umudike comes naturally right from time immemorial, it is not contested for because oldest ozor title holder takes it, we don’t fight or struggle for it”.
