Former Chairman of Osun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Pastor Seun Adeoye has emerged as the Presiding Bishop-Designate of Sufficient Grace and Truth Ministry (SGTM).
Adeoye emergence as Bishop-Designate was officially announced by Bishop Isaac Ibitayo and Apostle Laolu Oyediran during a Special Church Service on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the SGTM’s National Headquarters, Rehoboth Arena, Oba-Road, Okinni in Egbedore Local Government of the state.
In his message, the President of Liberty International College of Bishops, Bishop Adeyemo-John Ojekunle explained that the new Bishop-Designate was elected based on his commitment and dedication towards the work of God.
Quoting from the Book of Galatians Chapter 2, he charged Adeoye to use his wealth of experience as a journalist in the propagation of the gospel of Christ and to live an exemplary life of holiness.
Bishop Ojekunle described the calling into the office of a bishop as a highly noble and worthy assignment while urging all Christians to honour God’s anointed servants no matter their age or education qualifications.
Responding, the ex-NUJ Chairman who is also the founder of SGTM promised to use his elevation as a Bishop-Designate just like Bishop Desmond Tutu of South-Africa to serve God and humanity and to always fight against all forms of injustice anywhere in the world.
“God has given me the message of grace and comfort to all people. And I am going to be selfless in my service to God. I will use my new office to fight against all forms of spiritual and physical oppression of people anywhere I found myself”, he added.
