Dr. Nnadi who is the wife of the Chief Judge of Imo State, Justice Paschal Nnadi therefore pointed out that the celebration was not because Prof Obasi was appointed the Vice Chancellor, but because she represents symbol of womanhood and motherhood whose primary objective is to take the institution to an enviable height, while calling on the entire workforce of the citadel of learning to give her their full support to succeed.
In his sermon, the officiating Priest, Prof Jerome Okonkwo admonished the people to always do good and be remembered for something whenever God gives opportunity to individual to serve humanity, appealing to them to shun envy and bitterness when one is promoted as according to him, such is capable of bringing the future of the person to a standstill.
According to Prof Okonkwo, ‘power only comes from God and anyone trying to bring down what God has put in place is not only incurring his wrath but invoking causes upon himself’, and enjoined them to always sing praises to God when one is celebrating his promotion to pave way for their own glory.
