Cigarette smokers in London have voted Cristiano Ronaldo as the best footballer in the world ahead Lionel Messi really in a new street cleaning campaign.
Residents of London are being encouraged to throw their cigarette butts into a special kind of bin in a clever new campaign by Hubbub.
Cigarette smokers outside Embankment tube station can use the new cigarette butt boxes to cast their vote on who they think is the world’s best player out of Ronaldo and Messi.
In one of the boxes. Ronaldo gathered more butts than Messi.
Hubbub plan to test cigarette smokers with different questions every week with one previous example allowing passers-by to predict who they thought was going to win the London derby between Crystal Palace and Arsenal on August 16.
The environmental charity hope the new bins will reduce the amount of litter on the streets of London by using a fun theory approach.
A mission statement for their ‘Neat Streets’ initiative reads: ‘We all want clean and safe spaces around us.
‘Our public polling discovered that a staggering 86 per cent of people think littering is a disgusting habit yet only 15 per cent of us would actually confront someone and tell them that.
‘Taking pride of the areas we live and work helps to build better communities and save money.
‘This is why from May to October we’re trialling a new approach to tackling littering on Villiers Street, Westminster, using the latest thinking on behaviour change and awareness raising from around the world – read more about our approach.’
The new cigarette butt boxes do not stop at football with previous questions also including matters surrounding Formula One, tennis and cricket.Daily Mail.
