Ondo City Vision2015: Osemawe lures UK, US Investors to Ondo

The Osemawe and Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo CFR has lured potential American and United States investors as well as Nigerians in the Diaspora to come to Ondo, during a recent visit to the two countries.

Oba Kiladejo’s visit also coincide with the 2015 Ekimogun Day in Dallas, Texas, which he added more glamour to. The Ekimogun Day was well attended by both the Ondo indigenes and non-indigenes in America, United Kingdom and other parts of Europe.

While addressing Ondo Indigenes in Dallas, Texas USA, Oba Kiladejo,who is also the Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, stated that he visited London and Dallas not just to celebrate the Ekimogun Day with his people, but also to have interactions with potential investors and indigenes of Ondo to be part of the transformational vision of Ondo town in particular and Ondo State in general.

The Ondo City Vision 2015 project was conceived in 2010 during the celebration of five centuries of kingship, Osemawe noted.
The City Vision aims to modernize Ondo town, making it sustainable city in the 21st century and beyond.

He noted, “We envision that we must live in a community with a
well-planned environment, using a well-coordinated and accelerated approach. This is the thrust of the Ondo City Vision 2015 project. We have identified the required platforms of development. These are: Infrastructure Development and Government Liaison Unit, Education with emphasis on ICT, Commerce through a Chamber of Commerce, Mines, Industry and Agriculture, Cultural Renaissance Unit with emphasis on
revisiting, modernizing and promoting all aspects of culture, Funding and Corporate Social Responsibility Sub-Committee, ProjectCoordination and Implementation; and Proclamation Sub-Committee”

On accountability, Kiladejo said all the money realized and spent on the Ondo City Vision 2015 would be properly accounted for, adding that a detailed financial & accounting report on the project would be made available to all the indigenes of Ondo both home and abroad. He therefore welcomed investors to pursue the opportunities in this emerging mega city.

The Monarch also meet with members of staff, office of the Mayors of Dallas and Desoto cities.

At the Mayors’ office, Osemawe used the opportunity to inform them about his visit to America, saying that his vision is for Ondo town to become the first mega city in Ondo state by December, 2015. He reiterate that Ondo has the right people who are ready to work, resources and politically friendly environment with adequate security.

He was awarded an Honorary Citizenship of Dallas by Mayor Mike Rawlings.

With his visit, Oba Kiladejo had proven that he is a symbol of unity and love of the community and a proponent of economic vitality in his kingdom.

He was accompanied on this visit by his wife, Olori Olayinka Kiladejo, Chief Tadese Akinwande, Chief Wole Benson, Hon. Abiola Makinde and Hon. Wale Akinlosotu.
