Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has prescribed people’s support to any ruling government as panacea to development, thereby calling for Imo people’s continued support of Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha Rescue Mission Government.
He made this call last Thursday at his official residence when he was addressing the leadership of the traditional rulers from Owerri Zone led HRH. Eze Chidume Okoro when they paid him a victory courtesy call. He observed that no government succeeds without the support of the people.
Speaking further, he attributed the success of the Rescue Mission Government to its people oriented policies and programme. He added that any government that is estranged to the people is bound to fail. He said free education is people oriented as well as health policies of the Rescue Mission Government. He also outlined the infrastructural development, which he said affects the people in one way or the other. He mentioned security of life and property as the hallmark of government’s achievement.
Speaking on the major policy of the second coming of Rescue Mission, he said Owelle Rochas Okorocha led government will focus more on policies and programmes that will encourage the development of industrial base for the State.
He called on the Royal fathers to mobilize their people towards achieving set goal. He promised the government is ready to create a conducive environment and also make necessary sacrifices for investors. While acknowledging some Traditional Rulers are industrialists, he advised them to key into this programme as he hinted it might not be so gigantic in nature but will be majorly SME based.
He also used the forum to encourage the Traditional rulers to sensitize their people on the need to pay their tax and levies. He said; his words “all over the world, the government has its obligations to her citizenry. It is the rights of the citizens to have security of life and property and to have a free and conducive atmosphere where their business can thrive. In return, the citizens pay their taxes and levies to sustain such services from the government of the day. In Imo State, the government has proven a trusted partner to the people by implementing to the latter her promises.
Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha kept to hos electoral promises. Today, we have a task of ensuring that Imo begins to create wealth and jobs. We need our people to understand that give their full support by doing that, which they are constitutionally bound to do to help the government.
