Fire on Thursday razed down the Information Technology(IT) department of Diamond Bank branch at Idowu Taylor Street, Lagos. The second and third floor of the building were completely damaged.
Daily Review a Online gathered that the fire which started around 2am on Thursday, affected the department which is in charge of customer balance. Some customers who had gone to the ATM machines to check their balances did not succeed as part if that service was disrupted as a result of the fire incident.
Insider sources however said a back up from their partners in Egypt restored the services about two hours later.
It was also gathered that a manager in charge of that department(names withheld), lost $10,000 to the inferno. He was said to have kept the money in a drawer, even though the department does not handle any money.
