Buhari, a beneficiary of Amaechi’s corruption -PDP

Uche Secondus, the deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), cannot fight corruption because he is “benefitting from the proceeds of corruption”.
Secondus alleged that Buhari has been using an aircraft belonging to the Rivers state government for his tour across the country, saying Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers state and director-general of APC presidential campaign team, is sponsoring APC.
He was speaking during the presidential campaign of the PDP in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, on Friday.
“Buhari, can you ask your director-general about what he has done with the money of Rivers state? So far Amaechi has collected N3 trillion from the federal government and through internal generated revenue, what has he done with it?” he asked
“Is that not corruption? He took $60 million to build a hospital in Port Harcourt and that money has disappeared. Journalists, investigate! He spent billions of naira on a wasteful project called mono rail and the money has disappeared.
“He used $45 million to buy aircraft for the state government but converted the aircraft for himself. Let him show the world that aircraft today. He handed it over to Buhari for campaign. He is using the money of Rivers state to sponsor Buhari.
“Buhari, have you not taken the proceeds of corruption from Amaechi? That means you are also corrupt and so you have no case when you talk about corruption.
“All of you in APC, we know your history; your files are in EFCC; you cannot deny that you are not corrupt. Don’t pretend.”
Secondus further challenged any other body to organise a debate between Buhari and President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that the APC presidential candidate is no match for the candidate of the ruling party.
“Yesterday, the APC declared that they cannot come with their candidate for a debate with our president,” he said.
“Buhari is afraid to debate with Jonathan. We are inviting NUJ (Nigerian Union of Journalists) or any other debate group to organise a debate. President Jonathan will certainly come and tackle you on corruption and security.”
