The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu has described the former Governor of the old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo as a leading Father of the party and one of the pillars that have made the party very great in the annals of Nigerian political party history.
The Chairman made the remarks when he led a powerful delegation of the party on a condolence visit to the senator who lost his son, Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo after a very short illness in Enugu, a fortnight ago. “We received the news of the death of your son with shock, and on behalf of the National Working Committee of our great party, we pray that God who knows and determines our collective fate will give you the strength and courage to bear the loss”, Mu’azu told the Senator at his Maitama, Abuja residence on Thursday.
Accompanied by the Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus, his Chief Adviser and former FCT Minister, Dr. Umar Moddibo and Principal Secretary, Ambassador Sani Bala, Mu’azu told the Senator that “God who knows everything will make him feel better after going through this agonizing period of your life”.
The Deputy National Chairman prayed that the Senator and his wife Mrs. Patricia Nwobodo “will be relieved and May the Soul of Ifeanyi rest in the bossom of the Lord”.
He thanked the Chairman and his team as well as party members for finding time to come and commiserate with us, adding that “the Bible says that in all things we must thank God. For you to find time to come and condole us was very reassuring”, he added. The late Dr. Ifeanyi Nwobodo will be buried on December 5, 2015.
