Acting Minister of Education, Barrister Nelson Wike on Sunday said the Police prevented what would have resulted in a bloodshed when it Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi from using the blocked access to the Government House.
Wike spoke at the inauguration /thanksgiving of the Grassroots Development Initiative which he is the National Chairman, at Ogba Egbema, Rivers State.
He said Ameachi was not telling the truth when he said he was blocked from entering the Government House.
He said: “The truth is that when the police sealed the office of the illegal PDP, Amaechi told his supporters to go there that he was coming. He went and brought ex speakers of Assemblies, people who could not win reelection in their states. Our people had already mobilized to protest the opening of the office.
“So we commend the Police for averting what would have been a bloodshed. There are almost four routes to the Government House. Why didn’t Amaechi take the other routes?
“No amount of going to other state to cry would help him.”
He told Amaechi to resign since he has lost the support of Rivers People. “Ameachi should resign and go. Rivers people have taken a decision; we don’t want to renew your rent; when your rent expires, you pack and go.
Wike said the only way they can hand over the structure of the party was if Amaechi hands over court judgment of 2007. “Our condition is you should surrender the judgment if 2007. If you do that, we would also surrender the court judgment that brought in Felix Obuah.
He said President Goodluck Jonathan should be supported to continue in 2015. “Anybody who says Jonathan should not come back in 2015 should go back to his state.”
