The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has neutralised several terrorists and destroyed a major hideout linked to a notorious kingpin, Abasu Aiki, in Dan-Aji Forest, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
In a statement released on Sunday, NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the airstrike was conducted on May 1 following credible intelligence reports of renewed terrorist activities in the area.
According to him, intelligence further revealed that the location served as a logistics base and transit hub for fighters loyal to Aiki, who have been associated with repeated attacks on communities and security personnel across Faskari, Kankara, and Funtua areas.
Ejodame explained that NAF air assets identified armed terrorists on motorcycles and other operatives within the enclave before executing a coordinated strike targeting both the fighters and their support infrastructure.
He added that a battle damage assessment confirmed the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of the logistics hub, which triggered multiple explosions and widespread fires.
The operation, he noted, has significantly disrupted terrorist movements and supply chains in the region, reinforcing the Air Force’s commitment to eliminating safe havens and restoring security.
