The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has described the outcome of the weekend elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano and Rivers states as a strong endorsement of the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda said the party’s performance, particularly in the nation’s capital, reflected Nigerians’ confidence in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He congratulated APC supporters in the FCT, Kano and Rivers for what he described as the successful, peaceful and credible conduct of the February 21, 2026 polls. According to him, the victories recorded by the party demonstrate its resilience, unity and grassroots strength.
Yilwatda noted that the outcome of the FCT Area Council elections carried national significance, especially as residents of Abuja expressed support for the President’s reform-driven policies. He said the results signaled renewed hope and trust in the administration’s efforts to reposition the country for sustainable growth and prosperity.
The APC National Chairman congratulated the party’s chairmanship candidates who won in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Kuje, Abaji, Bwari and Kwali, describing their victories as evidence of the party’s strong connection with the people.
He also extended congratulations to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate who won in Gwagwalada, stating that the outcome showed democracy had prevailed and the will of the electorate was respected.
In addition, Yilwatda commended the party’s four State House of Assembly candidates who secured victories in Kano and Rivers, attributing their success to effective party organisation and public trust in APC leadership.
He praised party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for their discipline and peaceful participation in the democratic process, while also acknowledging the professionalism of security agencies and election officials.
“As we celebrate these victories, we must remain united, focused and committed to delivering good governance at all levels. The message from the people is clear: they want results, accountability and continued reforms in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda. The APC will not disappoint,” the statement said.
