The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has denied allegations that it procured approximately 10 kilograms of Thallium Sulphate, describing the claim as unfounded and confirming that the matter has been referred for investigation.
In a formal correspondence dated February 11, 2026, Brigadier-General O.M. Adesuyi, writing on behalf of the National Security Adviser, acknowledged receipt of a letter seeking clarification on the alleged procurement.
The letter stated unequivocally that ONSA “has neither procured nor initiated any process for the purchase of such material, and has no intention of doing so.”
While dismissing the allegation, the Office confirmed that the claim has been formally referred to the Department of State Services (DSS) for a comprehensive investigation.
According to the statement, individuals who may possess relevant information relating to the allegation will be invited by the Service to provide evidence to aid in establishing the facts and ensuring due diligence.
The response emphasized the commitment of the Office of the National Security Adviser to transparency and accountability in addressing matters of national concern.
