The campaign train of the APC AMAC chairmanship candidate, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu received a boost at the weekend as religious leaders in Nyanya, Jikwoyi, Karu, Orozo and Karshi wards in the zone A of the municipality pledged their support for his candidacy.
At a meeting of special pastors and church leaders held in Jikwoyi, the religious leaders said they have seen and heard of the laudable achievements by Maikalangu and his administration and would support his victory at the polls.
Spokesman for the church leaders, Rev Harvest Ighew told Maikalangu campaign train that they are ready to support him to win the February 21 Council elections.

They said with the construction of Comprehensive Motorized Borehole at Karshi Angwan Gwari; Installation of Transformers at Nyanya Community, there was need to support him so that he can do more for the communities.
The spokesperson for the group said it also learnt of the fistribution of Fertilizers and other Agricultural Inputs and provision of Motorcycles for Agriculture Extension workers
Maikalangu however told them that besides all these achievements, he assured them that he would do more “We provided interventions by holding periodic health care outreaches held in various communities – Kurudu, Garki, and other ward in AMAC
“We provided free drugs, counseling, medical tests and diagnosis to thousands of patients in those communities;
“We have intervened in the areas of Malarial campaign where we supplied and distributed free mosquito -treated nets to pregnant women and families in Garki and Lugbe and Pyakassa Communities, Kabusa ward.
According to the him, “Apart from persons whom we have facilitated their employment into various Ministries, Departments and Agencies at the federal level, it is the desire of this Council to generate employment to hundreds and thousands of unemployed youths in Abuja Municipal Area Council through various intervention Programmes.”
According to him, One of the blueprint leading to achieving that aim is the establishment of the AMAC Broadcasting Service Limited, the first commercial radio and television broadcast corporation ideated and established by a local government Council in the history of Nigeria.
