Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, has stranded over 50 passengers travelling to Warri, Delta State, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
Affected passengers told Vanguard that they had been delayed for more than five hours without clear information from the airline regarding their departure.
One of the passengers said the airline initially attributed the disruption to weather conditions around 8:00 a.m., but no further updates were provided as of the time of reporting.
A relative of one of the travellers, Mr Okome Thomas, said his aunt, who has an underlying medical condition and was travelling to Warri for treatment, had been waiting since 6:27 a.m. without adequate communication from the airline.
“Air Peace is fond of repeatedly disregarding its passengers. The airline behaves as if it is doing Nigerians a favour,” he said.
Efforts by Vanguard to obtain clarification from the airline’s representatives on the cause of the disruption were unsuccessful.
